The now-highest-grossing film of all time, and the second-to-last entry in Marvel Studios’ famed ‘Infinity Saga’, Avengers: Endgame was released one year ago this week. In celebration of this particular milestone, the film’s directors, brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, joined a Watch Party hosted by ComicBook.com for the film on both Twitter and Instagram. Throughout the viewing, they dropped several behind-the-scenes videos of the making of the film, all of which have been compiled below for your viewing pleasure.VIDEOS

This was @brielarson’s first day ever as Captain Marvel… And here’s a quick video of her greeting the cast for the first time. #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/ewMLDqgVGk

First off, we have Brie Larson decked out in Carol Danvers’ modified Kree Starforce gear going in for a hug with Scarlett Johansson whilst Chris Evans looks on. According to the Russos, this was Larson’s very first day as Captain Marvel. This all happened before production was even started on her solo movie debut. ADVERTISEMENT

We’ve got some more Russo family cameo’s here. That’s Joe’s daughter, Lia, Anth’s son, Julian, and our nephew, Augie. Lia loved the memes of her dabbing when this first came out… well, maybe love is a strong word… #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/ggT5LBVE0M

Next up, here’s some b-roll footage of Endgame’s diner scene in which Bruce Banner first appears in his ‘Smart Hulk’ form. As you can see, Mark Ruffalo is fully geared up in his motion-capture suit, complete with facial tracking dots. Those kids are actually Joe Russo’s daughter, Anthony’s son, and their nephew. Talk about keeping it all in the family!

Our insanely talented crew transformed a street in Downtown ATL into Tokyo for this Oner…#AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/RoCOoBtEgX

For the sequence in which Nat finds Clint on a murderous rampage in Japan, the production team transformed a street in downtown Atlanta, Georgia into a little slice of Tokyo. It’s quite impressive to see all the various decorations and adornments used to help sell the look.

Here’s some BTS from Joe’s iPhone, walking through and planning out some of the shots for Hawkeye’s time travel journey. #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/370fHCUPBe

Here is a view of the Barton Family barn, as seen through… a fence. It was captured on Joe Russo’s phone as he planned out shots for the initial time travel sequence. One has to wonder if this is the same barn from Aveners: Age of Ultron as it appears structurally different here. However, given Clint’s established penchant for home renovation, anything is possible! ADVERTISEMENT

Here we are getting ready to shoot an Asgard scene at the stately cathedral in Durham. We had to wait for the choir rehearsal to finish… #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/klCBJuJAMj

Sometimes, patience pays off. Case in point, the crew of Avengers: Endgame needed to wait til the choir at Durham Cathedral in England finished practicing before they could film there. They then proceeded to shoot some of the film’s sequences in which Thor and Rocket travel to Asgard in 2013 to collect the Reality Stone.

One of the fans’ (many) favorite sequences in the film was the one where Tony, Steve, Bruce and Scott travel back to Manhattan in 2012 at the height of the climactic battle from the original Avengers film. Here we see Paul Rudd as Scott warning Tony and Cap of the potential consequences of their actions as they proceed to jump even further back in time to retrieve what they need. The shared video appears to be the exact take used in the film.

This is from @ChrisEvans’s last day of playing Captain America, ever. Much love and respect to you sir. What an amazing run. #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/LreTlM2JrZ

Actor Chris Evans has had an extremely memorable run as Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, having played him in at least one film a year for nine consecutive years. Here, we see Evans’ final day on set as Cap, which the Russos seemingly definitively label his “last day ever”. But who knows what the future holds for the character in the MCU? ADVERTISEMENT

This is called an “element shoot”… poor van… #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/fEephYkest

This video features the destruction of Scott Lang’s X-Con van after Thanos throws his double bladed sword at it during Endgame’s final battle. Luis probably wasn’t too happy about this!

Downey’s last day on set after shooting the “I am Iron Man” moment. The very definition of a legend. We love this man 3000. @RobertDowneyJr #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/wIiQ5AwsDJ

When most people think of Iron Man or Tony Stark, thoughts of actor Robert Downey Jr. usually aren’t too far behind. This video captures RDJ’s last day on set as Tony, after filming his now-iconic Infinity Stone-powered sacrifice at the film’s end. This was surely an incredibly emotional day for all involved.

See…he’s not that old…@ChrisEvans #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/8yBoGUp9Zr

And finally, a bit of a lighthearted entry, as we see Chris Evans in his “Old Man Steve Rogers” guise goofing around on set. Tony Stark must have been right when he called him “pretty spry for an older fellow” back in 2012’s The Avengers.  ADVERTISEMENT
