Warner Bros. is preparing for a massive new slate of projects within the DC Extended Universe, many with major crossover potential down the road. This will start at the end of 2022 with Black Adam and Shazam!: Fury of the Gods before the really wild events in 2023’s The Flash change everything. The Multiverse will be explored, and multiple worlds will converge upon each other. Thus far, the biggest crossover event in the DCEU came with 2017’s Justice League, although that’s an event that most fans would much rather forget after it turned into a disaster....

To help kick off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016, Marvel Studios took a golden opportunity to introduce Tom Holland as the franchise’s Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. That threequel set up a partnership between Holland’s hero and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark - one that lasted until Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame. Due to the ongoing health crisis, large pop culture conventions like San Diego Comic-Con and Star Wars Celebration were ultimately canceled to prevent the spread of the virus. Instead of waiting for another window of opportunity to stage mass gatherings, some opted to adapt to the new normal by organizing virtual conventions. Moon Knight was cruising along on Disney+ in an archaeological fashion during the first three episodes and most of the fourth. It first appeared in The Clone Wars, where it went on to host an iconic fight between Darth Maul and Ahsoka Tano....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured the live-action debut of the Illuminati, but unfortunately, the team suffered quick deaths at the hands of the Scarlet Witch. Despite that, fans were able to witness the MCU debut of notable members, such as John Krasinski’s Reed Richards and Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier. Although Earth-838’s Illuminati was a stacked ensemble, a significant addition was almost featured in the lineup in the form of Balder the Brave....

The first MCU film since Spider-Man: Far From Home has finally been released. Of course, that film is none other than Black Widow, which has performed extremely well for Disney and proved that the hybrid release model is a good one, despite what some might try to say.Disney+ shows aside, the next film on the MCU docket is Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This is a film that will feature the debut of a brand-new MCU hero played by Simu Liu alongside a proper attempt to adapt the Marvel Comics villain The Mandarin—a figure who has terrorized the MCU since the first Iron Man film....

The future of the DCEU may be in a state of flux with its stars getting mired in controversy and a change of direction from Warner Bros. Discovery. But there are still some projects on the slate to get through before any of these changes come into effect. One of the longest-gestating of these is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam which finally hits theaters on October 21. Johnson has been attached to the project for more than a decade, and it finally looks as though the world will get to see what he has in store as one of DC’s most iconic anti-heroes....

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in full swing, and the latest entry to the massive slate of projects is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the series reunites Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes for a globetrotting adventure, with its main narrative centered around the legacy of Captain America’s shield. The first episode of the show managed to catch up with viewers about the personal lives of the titular pair, showcasing Sam and Bucky’s struggles to make amends with family and past victims, respectfully....

As exciting as it was to see Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff again, there was someone else in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that got the biggest reaction from fans: Reed Richards. The character, who is a member of the iconic Fantastic Four, was portrayed by the fan-favorite casting of John Krasinski and was one of the biggest surprises of the piece. Most glass buildings are a problem, but just banning them is the wrong solution.
