On International Women’s Day, a look at why far fewer women than men ride bikes, and how we can fix this. In some countries like Denmark, you see lots of women on bikes. In other countries, not so much. As part of their International Women’s day coverage, Tiffany Lam wrote in the Guardian about How to get more women cycling in cities, because “To cut greenhouse gas emissions we need to increase cyclist numbers and that means getting more women on their bikes....

Many nations count on coal, oil and natural gas to supply most of their energy needs, but reliance on fossil fuels presents a big problem. Fossil fuels are a finite resource. Eventually, the world will run out of fossil fuels, or it will become too expensive to retrieve those that remain. Fossil fuels also cause air, water and soil pollution, and produce greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. Renewable energy is comprised of resources that are endless in supply....

They are doing wonderful things about creating supply, but construction demand is notoriously cyclical in North America. On Citylab, Amanda Kolson Hurley writes a long and thoughtful article about Katerra, the startup that wants to revolutionize the construction industry. I have written a bit about Katerra here on TreeHugger but not much, because, while I have concerns, I really want them to succeed. The otherworldly royalty will team up with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and the Guardians of the Galaxy, all facing off against Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. With the fourth Thor film now mostly complete, fans are eagerly awaiting the start of its promotional tour.Currently, the film sits with the second-shortest time in MCU history between its first trailer and its ultimate release date, which is now just over three months away....

According to a director’s Instagram bio, a familiar filmmaker has jumped aboard Lucasfilm’s upcoming series Star Wars Ahsoka.The Rosario Dawson-led show will be the first time that Jedi Ahsoka Tano is the focus of her own solo project. While she first appeared in the 2008 animated Clone Wars, the character went on to get her live-action debut in The Mandalorian’s second season.But now, the former Jedi is ready to take on the spotlight herself....

Disney+’s National Treasure spin-off series, National Treasure: Edge of History, seems poised to expand the franchise, but the show’s first wave of reviews may have derailed this plan. The original National Treasure from 2004 followed Nicolas Cage’s Benjamin Franklin Gates’ search for the Templar Treasure while trying to fight mercenaries. The first movie became a box office hit that led to a sequel being greenlit, National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Although plans for a threequel haven’t come to fruition (yet), Disney+ is giving the franchise a new life through National Treasure: Edge of History....

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is so much more than a sequel. Rather, Marvel Studios’ first film of 2022 is the next big-screen chapter of the MCU’s Phase 4 Multiversal tale, and a continuation of both Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision from Disney+. Set to release on May 6, much of the plot for Doctor Strange 2 has been kept under wraps; but thanks to the film’s marketing, fans know to expect Variants of Doctor Strange, elements of horror courtesy of director Sam Raimi, and a potentially unhinged Scarlet Witch....

Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror made a triumphant debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but the character isn’t the only Kang Variant who made an appearance. While Ant-Man 3 is off to a bad start due to poor reviews, many critics still widely praised Majors’ performance as Kang. In fact, the MCU threequel is far from the character’s final outing as the next Avengers movie, The Kang Dynasty, is expected to tackle more of the villain’s backstory....

June’s The Flash will bring back to the big screen at least two fan-favorite Batmen of movies past, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.Thanks especially to the latter of the two, fans will have the opportunity to see Bruce Wayne at a later stage in life — an era not as commonly explored in Batman media compared to Bruce’s younger days.As such, Keaton’s return to the role has excited fans interested in seeing the Dark Knight all grown up, something teased in The Flash’s first trailer....
