It was another banner year for movies around the world, so what exactly were the 20 biggest box office hits of 2022? The numbers tell all. 2022 marked a significant for movie theaters around the world as restrictions pertaining to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic loosened and people started to head back to the movie theaters. While box office returns have yet to return to a pre-pandemic level, there were still some hits to be had with names like Top Gun: Maverick, Avatar, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever dominating the moviegoing conversation....

The defamation case recently concluded, with the jury awarding Depp $15 million in compensation and punitive damages and Heard getting $2 million in damages....

After what will be two full MCU Phases without an Avengers movie, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will return with a vengeance in May 2025 with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.This massive outing is still a long way out, although Marvel is already planting the seeds for the team behind the massive crossover event. This starts at the top with the director - a position for which the group hired Destin Daniel Cretton after his incredible success with last year’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings....

Warning - This article contains minor spoilers for Black Widow. ‘In early January, it was revealed by Milla Jovovich that her daughter, Ever Anderson, would be playing a young Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow. Then, in a trailer for Black Widow, fans finally got to see Anderson in the role as audiences were treated to a peek at Natasha’s childhood. It was mentioned multiple times before in the earliest trailers for the film that Natasha had a family before the Avengers, but over time, fans learned that she quite literally had a fake family with David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov and Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff acting as her parents, along with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova as her sister....

DC Studios James Gunn previously called out fans who claim to know anything about the future of the DCU, and it appears that the co-CEO has taken to Twitter to set an example by debunking the latest Superman rumor. Black Adam featured a surprise return for Henry Cavill’s Superman in its post-credits scene, potentially hinting at a future clash between the two heroes. Following the character’s incredible comeback, Cavill then teased that fans only saw a “very small taste” of what’s coming for Superman ahead of his DCU future....

It’s true; we were primarily showing projects that, as the title said, we have known. However, it inspired me to go out and find more. After temporarily being fired from Marvel Studios, James Gunn is back to write and direct Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Gunn’s latest DC film The Suicide Squad is set to premiere in theaters and on HBO Max August 6. The first reactions to the R-rated adventure are overwhelmingly positive, one critic calling it his “favorite DC Movie.” There’s no word on a possible The Suicide Squad 2, but the Peacekeeper spin-off series starring John Cena is an additional project Gunn is working on for Warner Bros....

Ms. Marvel has finally wrapped its six-episode run on Disney+. The Kamala Khan-centric series, focused on young Ms. Kahn as she discovered a set of extraordinary powers courtesy of a bangle in her family’s attic. The series was praised for its lead star Iman Vellani, as well as the creative use of Spider-Verse-like visual flair that played off of Kamala’s youthful energy. I Am Groot is one of the upcoming animated spinoffs set in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. The animated anthology series will revolve around Vin Diesel’s Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy and gets into his own adventures. It is unknown if other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy like Rocket Raccoon will make an appearance, but anything is possible. The series is confirmed to be released later this year, meaning that marketing is expected to ramp up soon....

Plenty of fans were bitter about Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff not having her own funeral at the end of Avengers: Endgame like Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man, despite sacrificing herself for the sake of half the universe too. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has slowly but surely begun to rectify this perceived mistake by fans. Not only did she get her own movie, Black Widow, but her death was also given far more focus in Disney+’s Hawkeye....
