Not only did this cause the studio to massively change their plans, but it also changed the proposed two-part Justice League movie into just a single film. It didn’t help with Ben Affleck dropping out, which forced Warner Bros....

DC’s forthcoming superhero movie Black Adam sees Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson play the title character. When Superman Returns, starring Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel, opened in theaters in 2006, it failed to capture the box office and a planned sequel was ultimately scrapped by Warner Bros. Fast forward to the Winter of 2019/2020 and Routh was given the opportunity to reprise his role as Superman in the Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Routh already had a role in the Arrowverse as Dr. Ray Palmer aka, the Atom, but this three episode appearance as Superman was explained as the Kryptonian hailing from an alternate Earth where Clark Kent just happens to look like Ray Palmer....

As the pandemic continues around the world, Warner Bros. continues to release all its major films simultaneously on HBO Max and in theaters. Wonder Woman 1984 began this trend in December, and it is set to end with The Batman in 2022, being the first DC film since Birds of Prey to drop exclusively in theaters. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was the one exception to this rule, as the director’s long-awaited cut of the 2017 superhero team-up came exclusively to the streaming service....

After it was reported Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 would not be moving forward at Warner Bros. (WB), a new detail suggested that Gal Gadot may not actually be done in the role. The Hollywood Reporter made headlines when it released a report revealing that the third Wonder Woman film was being scrapped. This put into question if Gadot - who’s played the amazonian hero since 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - would be replaced for the new James Gunn and Peter Safran-led era of the DCU....

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is finally beginning its promotional cycle, with Marvel Studios releasing a number of marketing materials in anticipation of the film’s September 3, 2021 premiere. Plot details were relatively scarce going into Marvel’s first attempt at a martial arts movie, but Shang-Chi’s new trailer has now shed a bit more light on the film’s narrative. Marvel Studios is now back in the theatrical release game with Sam Raimi and Benedict Cumberbatch’s work on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU’s first big-screen release of 2022. Following the box-office-breaking efforts of Spider-Man: No Way Home in December, Doctor Strange 2 looked to continue that same trend after countless delays to its release. Early predictions hinted toward the Multiversal sequel shooting for the stars and joining the ranks of Marvel’s top-grossing solo movies from the past 14 years....

Namor actor Tenoch Huerta shared his reaction to his Black Panther: Wakanda Forever character’s on-screen bulge being digitally altered for the film’s release. Huerta’s Talokanil King made his MCU debut in the Black Panther sequel, quickly becoming one of the fans’ favorite villains in franchise history. This version of the character seen on screen is pretty faithful to the source material, sporting “unique features” like his signature trunks and winged feet for the entire film....

August 2021 will bring the release of James Gunn’s debut DCEU movie The Suicide Squad, the John Cena solo Peacemaker series for HBO Max, and multiple other solo movies are planned for heroes like Aquaman and the Flash....
