Marvel Studios has been overwhelmingly successful with the Marvel Cinematic Universe over nearly 13 years of action, with a number of behind-the-scenes personnel becoming regulars with the company. Phase 4 will see this trend continue with directors like James Gunn and Peyton Reed returning for their third MCU movies, while Taika Waititi and Ryan Coogler will take on their second movie each. Not only will Phase 4 see multiple returns from the Infinity Saga, a select few of Marvel’s finest are taking on multiple projects in Phase 4 alone....

Marvel Studios has made two mass project announcements since initially revealing Phase 4 at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige concluded his 2019 Comic-Con presentation in dramatic fashion as he brought out Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali to announce him as the star of the MCU’s Blade, a moment that shocked everyone....

One of the first trans actors to play a character in one of the MCU’s Disney+ offerings talked about the importance of his part.As far as LGBTQ+ representation goes, Marvel Studios has steadily been gaining some solid momentum.Audiences saw Phastos in 2021’s Eternals be portrayed in a same-sex relationship, and Thor’s pal, the King of Asgard herself, Valkyrie is also canonically bisexual. There have been a handful of other LGBTQ+ characters in the MCU, but the franchise still has a long way to go to better serve certain queer portions of its fanbase....

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will introduce a plethora of new characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and one of them is Riri Williams, aka Ironheart. The character will be portrayed by Dominique Thorne and the film will serve as her launchpad before being featured in her own Disney+ series.
