Thor: Love and Thunder is filled with new and old characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The upcoming MCU sequel will bring back Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian hero for his fourth solo adventure, and he will be joined by a stacked ensemble of allies, such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, Korg, Miek, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor. Another potential ally to Thor is the confirmed arrival of Russell Crowe’s Zeus....

All the way back in 2020, it was reported by Deadline that Sony Pictures had hired Olivia Wilde to both direct and develop a Marvel movie. It has long been rumored that Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds from the Spider-Man MCU trilogy would one day turn on his former friend and become the Hobgoblin. Why? The fourth installment in the Thor franchise has been released globally in theaters. Thor: Love and Thunder marks Chris Hemsworth’s 8th time donning the suit with either Mjolnir or Stormbreaker. It is also Taika Waititi’s second directorial performance in the MCU and re-introduces Jane Foster after being sidelined since 2014’s Thor: The Dark World. Similar to The Dark World, Love and Thunder is getting mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film sits at 68% on Rotten Tomatoes among critics and received a B+ CinemaScore from audiences....

PRODUCTION On September 18, 2018, Variety reported that Marvel Studios was developing a limited exclusive Disney+ series centered on the MCU’s Wanda Maximoff. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was set to serve as one of the series’ executive producers. The Hollywood Reporter later reported that Black Widow writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as the series’ showrunner, as well as an executive producer and the writer of the show’s pilot episode. At Disney’s 2019 investor day, Kevin Feige officially revealed that the series would be titled WandaVision....

WandaVision has reached its endgame by showcasing the full-blown transformation of Wanda Maximoff into the Scarlet Witch. The character’s transition into the Chaos Magic-infused magic user will no doubt change the landscape of the MCU, and the series serves as the primer for that narrative to unfold in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. At this point, it’s no secret that the inaugural MCU offering under the Disney+ banner is a resounding success, mainly due to the show’s unique approach of featuring sitcoms as well as the positive reception from fans and critics on social media....

As the end of the year draws near, it’s finally time to get ready for some new MCU content. 2020 was the first year in over a decade that no new MCU content was released, as every project on Marvel Studios’ queue was put on pause as the world began to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the series’ two-episode premiere, the Order 66 flashback and its possible ties to Reva dominated fan conversation.
