From the beginning, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has been a series of firsts. In addition to being the MCU’s first Phase 4 origin story, Shang-Chi is also the studio’s first Asian superhero movie, its first martial arts film, and the first since 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home to receive an exclusive theatrical release. Earlier this year, Disney’s decision to release the film in theaters without the option for Disney+ Premier Access led to grim projections for the project’s box office....

The anticipation surrounding Thor: Love and Thunder is high, especially considering that the upcoming sequel will feature not just the return of Chris Hemsworth’s titular God of Thunder, but it will also mark the big-screen comeback of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. This time around, though, Foster will be vastly different, since she is set to transform into the Mighty Thor. The pair is set to join new and old allies such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, King Valkyrie, and Korg as they set off to battle a dangerous villain in the form of Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher....

Marvel will return to a story across both Earth and space with this summer’s Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth solo outing for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder. While the leading heroes are sure to venture out to uncharted territories across the galaxy, especially with the Guardians of said galaxy in tow, part of the story will come down to Earth with New Asgard. When fans last saw the former King of Asgard, he had left Earth with the Guardians after Avengers: Endgame in search of new challenges with the Mad Titan Thanos in his rearview mirror....

In The Wakanda Files, an in-universe journal written by Shuri, it’s noted that HYDRA chose Sokovia citizens with specific “genetic anomalies,” as they made the best candidates for their experiments with the Mind Stone. It is incredibly likely that these “genetic anomalies” could be a dormant mutant gene that the Mind Stone could trigger if the subjects survived. “Whether it altered her or merely unlocked something latent inside Wanda, the Infinity Stone on Loki’s scepter bestowed incredible powers of the mind....

It was officially announced that Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani would be joining Brie Larson in Captain Marvel 2, with Parris barely containing her own excitement at working with them both. Secret Invasion, an upcoming MCU Disney+ show, will likely lead directly into the Captain Marvel sequel, just as WandaVision will lead into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Though Captain Marvel 2 isn’t expected to release until November 11, 2022, one supporting cast member fans expected to return was Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, who was the mother of a young Monica Rambeau in the previous movie....

Researchers were shocked to discover what part of the bread-making process generates most emissions. Bread has existed in every culture for millennia. Ever since the magical combination of grains plus water and heat was discovered, variations of bread have appeared everywhere, from Middle Eastern pita and Central American tortillas to Ethiopian injera and Canadian bannock. Bread is, quite literally, the staff of life, a staple for the global diet. That is why researchers at the University of Sheffield in England thought that measuring the carbon footprint of bread would be an effective and interesting exercise....

When you see bees flitting about your garden, you might notice that some of them have orange or yellow clumps along their hind legs. Once a robust selection of shows, the number of programs directly connected to the Arrowverse that have been left standing after The CW’s massive bout of cancellations is down to two (or one depending on how you view the largely-detached Superman & Lois.) In their heyday, these shows, including Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow told individual stories that would frequently crossover with one another by way of actors doing guest spots on other shows....

Zack Snyder’s Justice League almost featured an appearance from John Stewart’s Green Lantern, but plans were scrapped by Warner Bros. The DC hero was supposed to be portrayed by Wayne T. Carr, with Snyder confirming that he had already shot scenes with the actor before being asked to remove them from the Justice League movie.In the original draft, Snyder planned to utilize Green Lantern at the tail-end of the movie, with the hero warning Bruce Wayne about an impending threat....

This April marks one year since Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson took up the Captain America mantle in the series finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. On the same day that Mackie was first seen donning the iconic Stars and Stripes, Captain America 4 was revealed to be in development for the big screen, with Disney+ showrunner Malcolm Spellman returning to pen the script. Almost a year later, there is still no word on how pre-production is getting along, with the Captain America: Civil War sequel presumably still in the writing stages....

The Inderhavnsbroen bridge cycle and pedestrian bridge in Copenhagen was supposed to open in 2013. It’s a long and expensive bridge that has to open to let ships through; I showed it in the slideshow, Riding the new bike and pedestrian bridges of Copenhagen But I didn’t get to ride over it; it had just been finished and was still going through testing after long delays. The introduction of Disney+ has allowed the big brains at Marvel Studios to tell new and creative stories. After six live-action series directly tied into the overall narrative, the streaming side of the MCU has expanded the universe. Veteran characters like Wanda, Vision, Sam, Bucky, Loki, and Clint Barton all got significantly more screen time than in their previous big screen outings. While new characters like Monica Rambeau, John Walker, Sylvie, Kate Bishop, Moon Knight, and Khamala Khan were all introduced within the Disney+ app....

Gabriel Luna, the actor behind Agents of SHIELD’s Ghost Rider, revealed whether or he’d return to his super-powered role.Luna’s version of the character, Robbie Reyes, who appeared in ten episodes of SHIELD’s fourth season, was lauded as some of the best work the show ever did across its seven seasons. Even the CGI was incredibly impressive.However, since his last appearance on the show in 2017, there’s been no word on whether or not Luna’s hell-blazing hero would return....

The interconnected slate of Star Wars Disney+ shows centered around The Mandalorian could be expanding in the near future, with rumors of a new project in the works.Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni started the MandoVerse in 2019 with the release of Season 1 of The Mandalorian. The story continued in the show’s Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett spin-off and is expected to spread out even wider with the premieres of Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew in 2023....
