For years, we have been pushing the old ways of keeping cool. They are not enough anymore. Writing in the Guardian, Rowan Moore writes about a subject dear to TreeHugger’s heart: Air conditioning. He claims it changed buildings more than any other invention: Wikimedia user Zereshk/CC BY 2.0 That’s a bold statement, and probably an exaggeration. But he notes that we have forgotten all those architectural tricks we used to do to keep cool – dogtrot houses, wind-eating towers, front porches, and – I would add – awnings, cross-ventilation, high ceilings and afternoon naps....

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not only bringing dozens of new characters, but also an entirely new division of the universe that will explore the supernatural. The first signs of this were teased during Loki’s run on Disney+, and next year, it will begin to come to full fruition with Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. Filming is currently underway in Budapest for Marc Spector’s first solo MCU project, which is rumored to arrive sometime in early 2022....

Echo is set to join the small screen lineup within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exploring the adventures of Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez after the events in Hawkeye. The upcoming Disney+ series is expected to explore the aftermath of Maya’s decision to leave the Tracksuit Mafia behind while also seemingly killing off Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk. Although Fisk is presumed dead after Hawkeye’s final episode in December 2021, rumors point to the character’s return in Echo, thus spelling trouble for Maya....

The HouseZero project is an extreme retrofit of an existing building, the home of The Harvard Center for Green Buildings and Cities at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch had the opportunity to go fully down her villainous path in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, becoming the sequel’s lead antagonist as she ravaged through the Multiverse. While most fans expected that role to go to Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo after 2016’s Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff took the terror to a new level in her first Phase 4 movie. Mordo played a much different role in the Doctor Strange sequel, with Ejiofor only appearing as Earth-838’s Master Mordo instead of the 616 version from the original movie....

Marvel Studios has been able to attract a lot of actors to their projects over the years, including many that people thought would never have played ball; Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, Christian Bale, and more. Clearly, the company knows what it’s doing and has been able to get these actors comfortable under its wing. But there are still plenty of actors that have not yet touched an MCU project. Lots of people want to see the likes of Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, or La La Land’s Ryan Gosling, or even Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston join the Avengers world....

Spider-Man: No Way Home has been all the rage recently. The upcoming film starring Tom Holland is set to be the last MCU project of the year and one of the biggest Spidey flicks yet. However, there’s another upcoming movie focused on the wall-crawler that people seem to be forgetting about: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The first film, Into the Spider-Verse, sees Miles Morales take up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker....

The Mandalorian jump-started the Star Wars franchise when it was dying, thanks to the reception of The Rise of Skywalker. It’s now become the flagship project in the franchise and has been responsible for several spin-offs set in the same timeframe.But what fans haven’t seen is any major crossovers between the individual series. The closest audiences have come was the involvement of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, but that was before they both had their own shows—so it doesn’t fully count....

Lucasfilm has seen a resurgence over the last couple of years with Star Wars content, particularly with the addition of exclusive series on Disney+. No one ever plans on getting lost, which is why it’s smart to have some rudimentary knowledge about how to handle such a situation. It feels like birthday party season around here. My son has received multiple party invitations in recent months, which I view with mixed emotions. On one hand, I’m thrilled that he’ll enjoy a few hours of diversion with little friends. He needs it during the summer, when he’s bored from hanging out with me all day. The old nighttime family routine of bath, teeth-brushing and a bedtime story has a new addition: the evening hunt for ticks. The “hierarchy of the DC Universe” line has been the movie’s go-to statement in its marketing, and the trailers already proved that this is more than just a promotional line due to Black Adam’s dominance over the Justice Society of America....

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and the fifth from the sun. The gas giant is 2.5 times the mass of all the other planets circling our sun. The planet was named for the Roman god Jupiter, who ruled over laws and social order. Thanks to several missions by NASA — including the Juno orbiter, the Voyager and Cassini flybys, the Galileo orbiter, and the Hubble telescope — we’re able to understand our biggest planetary neighbor as never before....

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is probably best known for protecting historically and culturally significant sites, like the Great Wall of China or the Old City of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Culture is more than just buildings, monuments and natural wonders, however. It can also be, as UNESCO explains, “oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe.” To that end, UNESCO has the Intangible Cultural Heritage list that monitors and works to help safeguard the more ephemeral aspects of culture....

The CW was once home to a robust slate of superhero TV shows based on the characters of DC comics. Beginning with Arrow in 2012, the shared universe grew into several more series with frequent crossovers between them.Spearheading the effort, in part, was CW CEO Mark Pedowitz, who worked alongside Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti to bring shows like The Flash and Batwoman to life. Pedowitz entered as the network’s president in 2011 and was officially named Chairman and CEO in 2020....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness experienced a seismic behind-the-scenes shift when original director Scott Derrickson departed the project, thus leading to the takeover of Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi.
