One of the most-watched MCU Disney+ series last year was easily Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. The God of Mischief’s first solo outing drew a big audience, and it brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe to some mind-bending new places. In fact, it was the first project to feature Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror, whose Multiversal Variants will eventually go on to become the next Thanos-level big bad. Besides all of that exciting future storytelling set-up, the best part of the show was how it allowed viewers to see Loki in a way simply not possible in the movies. Instead of a few fleeting scenes in someone else’s movie, fans got nearly five hours of storytelling completely focused on Hiddleston’s iconic character. The project not only allowed the MCU to dive into completely new territory but also gave Tom Hiddleston a chance to explore his character in a completely new light, and it was an experience the actor found to be very “meaningful.” Now, it looks like Marvel’s choice of creating this Multiverse-traveling, Loki-Variant extravaganza was a great choice, seeing as the show has now walked away with six different Emmy nominations. Loki Gets Deserved Awards Attention Marvel Studios isn’t new to getting Emmy attention. Last year, WandaVision made history by winning the MCU its first Emmy for “Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour).” The show even went on to win more, including one for the now-iconic song, “Agatha All Along”. As for this year, it’s great to see the trend continue. Loki certainly deserves the attention, as does Moon Knight, which joined the show in the list of nominees. Sadly, Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld’s Hawkeye got little love, only receiving two nominations for the show’s stunt work. For those wondering when they’ll be seeing Tom Hiddleston and the TVA crew again, the show’s second season just went into production. The entire cast is returning, and with filming having just started, it’s a safe bet that the series could hit Disney+ by the end of next year. Until then, fans can look forward to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will see Jonathan Majors reprise his role of Kang the Conqueror when the movie hits theaters on February 23, 2023.
